Autistic children are usually slow to speak; otherwise, they might never even learn to talk at all through the length of their lives. Those who live with and around them tend to have to look for ways to communicate with them, and I assure you this is not a very easy thing, considering that the child is not even interested in communication in the first place. But what must be done must be done, and if you have an autistic child, you might as well prepare for it. If you have a sibling or friend who suffers from autism, they must have had it since when they were a baby. Chances are that folks had a lot of trouble with them then too. So he or she is an adult now, which is good; however you cannot have them living alone. Sure they may have improved, and the chances are that there will not be a relapse, but they still need the presence of someone healthy to help with some mundane things that might not be so easy for them. Speech and language problems are usual with sufferers from autism. When you expect your kid to develop these skills faster yet you are not getting that out of them, you will be concerned. What you don’t do is nothing rather, get up and find out what the matter is: read up, or see a doctor. And then begin whatever treatment or medication the professional asks you to. An autistic child by the age of 3 would have shown antisocial signs already, while also displaying signs of wanting to be alone much of the time. And when you try to speak directly with them, you might not be able to elicit any reasonable kind of response. You could just find them staring off into space, or drawing straight lines that seem to mean nothing. You will do well to know the signs so that you can watch out for it in your kids and seek out medication the moment you notice them.
