The Capital Area Food Bank of Texas (CAFB) announces iPheedANeed, the first iPhone application launched by a food bank to-date. Aiming to increase awareness for the issue of hunger in Central Texas, iPheedANeed supports the organization’s commitment to reduce hunger in Central Texas 25 percent by 2014. Users can play a game featuring a virtual “Kitchen Cupboard,” where users can stock their kitchen shelves with healthy, non-perishable food items they’ve caught.
The free application features news from the Food Bank’s blog, a hunger stories podcast, Facebook updates, and events supporting the Food Bank. Users can view simple and healthy, low-cost recipes from CAFB’s nutrition education team. Packed with easy-to-navigate information, the app helps you advocate, donate and volunteer with the ease of your iPhone. To download iPheedANeed, visit www.iPheedANeed.com .
“We created a simple, fun and engaging iPhone experience that will further our mission, show up-to-date information such as local fundraising events, and fully engage the user in real-time,” says Lisa Goddard, CAFB Online Marketing Director
